We want to equip you to disciple others in your home and community. These blogs, written by our staff and leaders, are guides on how to minister to kids, students and adults!
The Secret to Marriage
Not only that, but we both would admit that being married is the most influential thing that God has used to grow and challenge us in our entire life. We have learned that marriage can be really great, but it can also be very difficult.
It’s almost time to kick your teenagers out of the nest and into the real world. For some of you, this is exciting. You finally get the man cave or craft room that you’ve always wanted. For others, this is terrifying. You’re not even sure if Jimmy will be able to handle his own laundry once he’s away at school.
God is Spirit. He’s real and we, as Christians, have a personal relationship with Him, even though we cannot see Him. These realities present challenges when parenting our kids because they think literally.
Recently, my 5-year-old daughter asked, “I can’t see God, so how do we know He’s real?” (which is a terrifying question for your daughter to ask, right?)
Creating Meaningful Conversation with your Teenager
It is our job as parents and mentors to help them grow and learn the skills to share their emotions through conversation. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go; Even when he is old he will not depart from it.” By creating relationships that cultivate good communication we can help these students through many of life’s hurdles and strengthen their relationship with the Lord.
