JOSHUA & CONQUEST
The book of Joshua tells the story of the nation of Israel's entrance and claim of the land promised to them by God. Once Israel arrives, they are met with hostility from the native Canaanites. As you read the stories of the ensuing battles in the book of Joshua, you may find that the events bother you. If you're a follower of Jesus, you're bound to wonder, "Didn't Jesus say love your enemies? Why is God declaring war?" Even though these passages are difficult, through some study and wisdom, we can find some clarity about the purpose and meaning in these battles.
