DAY 13

Adopted and Redeemed

DECEMBER 15

But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. Galatians 4:4-5

Jesus’ birth that we celebrate at Christmas points directly to this amazing truth: God the Father sent God the Son to adopt us and redeem us! We are no longer slaves to sin but children of the most high God.

Here are two questions to reflect on and discuss as a family or on your own:

  1. How does being redeemed and adopted by God reassure you today?

  2. How does knowing Jesus’ sacrifice on your behalf increase your gratitude to God?

Pray: Look back over the verses above and thank God for what He’s done and what He’s doing. For example, “God, thank You for sending Your son Jesus to save me.”

As a Family: Identify people in your life that need to hear the Gospel this holiday season. Spend time praying for these people, asking God to provide opportunities to share with them and invite them.
