The Second Advent

Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!” Revelation 5:11-12

During this month when we celebrate Jesus’ first coming, it is exciting to look toward His second coming. As we read what it will be like in Revelation 5, we hope in anticipation for Jesus’ final declaration of victory when we will worship Him face to face for all eternity.

Here are three questions to reflect on and discuss as a family or on your own:

  1. In view of Jesus’s return, what in your life should change?

  2. Imagine the scene described in the verses above. What emotions do this scene provoke from you, and why?

  3. What difference does knowing where everything is heading in the future change the way we live today?

Pray: “Lord, You’re coming back for us! Help me share Your good news with those around me.”

As a Family: Name 3 people that you know that do not have a personal relationship with Jesus. Take time to pray for those people and to think about how you will invite them to a Christmas Eve service.
